Bike Week: An opportunity to beat fuel protests?
With Bike Week [June 14-22]coming up, would you consider giving it a go to cut back on your car's fuel bill - and to escape any planned petrol protests?
Here are some highlights of events being held around our region [Let us know of others]. And we should point out that employers seem to be actively encouraging staff to bike to work and home again [event organised by Welsh Water, St David's Park, Ewloe] and then there's the bike to work and bike lease scheme [JobCentre Plus, Wrexham].
At Glan Clwyd Hospital, the Conwy and Denbighshire NHS Trust is also holding a cycling awareness day.
Meanwhile, over the border there are some interesting [16-mile River Dee Round] and family-friendly [Chester Easy Five Mile Challenge] events being held in Chester which has been chosen as one of 19 towns and cities in England shortlisted to get a share of the £47m funding for the so-called Cycling Demonstration Towns initiative.
