Our Michael - football's richest player

Wow, so according to The Sunday Times Rich List 2008, homegrown Michael Owen has become football's richest player, amassing a fortune of £41m.

Not bad when you think he started out as an apprentice on £42.50 a week. From the profiles I've read and seen on Michael, he seems to be a businessman as well as a footballer and a brand, and is already working on his next career as a horse trainer.

Anyway, the Daily Post looks at other local people who made the list.

And while BBC News look at celebrities from the world of music who join the list, here's the question my colleagues pose: Do stars deserve their millions? Over to you...
