Now, I've heard of strange phobias and peculiar habits bordering on the obsessive compulsive but to be terrified of scotch eggs [Ricky Gervais explains the scotch egg] has to be the strangest yet.
But what I'm not sure about is what's weirdest; the fact that Wrexham painter and decorator Gareth Jones is reduced to a tearful wreck every time he sees the savoury snack or that he and girlfriend Laura can be seen on TV chatshow Trisha on Friday discussing the problem.
Laura nominated Gareth for the show about phobias because, says the Evening Leader, the "problem came to crisis point" when the couple started talking about marriage and Gareth was adamant there should be no scotch eggs at the buffet! [Either the eggs go - or I go!] Some ultimatum.
