Pirate Bay Charges

Post categories:

Chris Vallance | 18:24 UK time, Thursday, 31 January 2008

Working today on an (eventually spiked!) piece on Pirate Bay, the Swedish website which bills itself as "The World's Largest Bittorrent Tracker". If that description leaves you blank the clue is in its name, it has a lot of links to music, film and other copyright content. It's important to note the site does not itself host the material.

Pirate Bay was raided by Swedish police in 2006: today charges have been brought against 4 people

The interviews below are with Magnus Eriksson of Piratbyran. I'm told Pirate Bay grew out of Piratbyran but the two organisations are now separate. And there's an interview with Jo Oliver of the IFPI an organisation representing the recording industry.
