As part of Africa Lives on the BBC, Ras Kwame broadcast three live shows from Ghana. It was a bit of a homecoming for Ras who spent his teens growing up there.

As well as reflecting the life and culture of one of the most vibrant countries in Africa, the shows take a look at its different musical traditions including High Life, and its hip-hop influenced successor, Hip Life.

Taking the trip with Ras Kwame and his crew was one of the UK's hottest rappers, Sway. We hooked him up with musicians in Ghana. Listen again to see what happens when UK hip-hop meets African beats.

Tuesday 5th July 11pm-1am
Took a look at the UK/Ghanaian connection with co-host Sway. They hooked up with some Ghanaian artists who are starting to make a name for themselves in the UK including Hip Life rapper Tic Tac.

Wednesday 6th July 11pm-1am
The second show focused on contemporary Ghanaian music, exploring the Hip Life scene and chatting to the grandaddy of hip life Reggie Rockstone - as well as some of the hottest Ghanaian hip life artists and producers, Obrafour, Tinny and Hammer. Ras also looked at Gospel music - the biggest selling genre in Ghana.

Thursday 7th July 11pm-1am
The third show looked at the roots of Ghanaian music and explored the development of High Life music and how that links up with other African musical traditions from across the continent.
