Student Diaries
This is our 2004 Student Diaries series, where we follow four disabled students during their first month at university as freshers, through diaries that they sent us.
Arunima
Arunima is a wheelchair user studying Law at Cambridge. She is widely travelled having seen most of Europe, America and India. Closer to home she has also done work with the charity Whizz-Kids.
Bobbie
Bobbie has mental health problems and dyslexia and is studying Fine Arts at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. She enjoys artistic pursuits including photography, painting, drawing and working with Digital Media.
Darren
Darren is blind and is studying Computer Science and History at Keele University. He's into indie rock, bands like Franz Ferdinand, Coldplay and Green Day.
Kirsty
Kirsty is deaf and is studying Medicine at Cambridge. She is into outdoor pursuits including snowboarding sailing and hiking.
