BBC Radio 1

1. Haim

It's been four long years since Haim last graced Radio 1's Big Weekend with their presence. Back then, they were all sleeveless jackets and cool LA attitude:

Now... well thankfully they haven't changed much. They've smartened up their look but they're still cool as anything, and now they have twice as many great songs for us to chant along to.

2. Plan B

It's been even longer since we heard a peep of out Ben Drew AKA Plan B. Last time we saw him, he was a suited and booted soulman...

These days... Wow, is that really the same guy? Ben's transformed into a lean Bowie-esque rocker, complete with silvery hair and biker gloves, and punchy new songs that reveal a more personal side.

3. Lana Del Rey

It's also been five years since Lana Del Rey last played Radio 1's Big Weekend. At the time she was rocking the full Hollywood femme fatale look, in a striking red dress and semi-beehive hairdo...

This weekend, unveiling songs from her new album Lust for Life, Lana looked much more relaxed in a 60s patterned dress. In the timeless cool stakes, she's got it all sewn up:

4. Lorde

It was 2014 when a then-teenage Lorde marked herself out as a future superstar with a stunning set at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow:

Three years on and she's back with a new album, Melodrama, and a pair of impressive MC Hammer-style trousers that match the name of her current single, Green Light:

5. London Grammar

2014's Big Weekend was also the first time many of us fell in love with the sensuous sounds of London Grammar.

They certainly haven't had a thumping dancefloor conversion in the meantime, but that's fine - we love them just as they are.
