The fearsome spitfire assault of his latest recording, “Give It Time”, uses hyper-speed raps, the latest electronic gadgetry, and anything from PlayStation to Pro-Tools, to create sounds of harsh bleeps, floor shaking bass and unremitting beats. Human life is here. DEAD LETTER OFFICE Some of the most memorable music to grace the world in years gone by has been driven by angst and emotion. Most of the greats have had that edge – indefinable yet completely understood. Dead Letter Office don’t want to fit into any scene, or to blend in. Their darker side will always ensure their own brand of emotional rock never quite succumbs to what the mainstream demands. That is what truly defines the unique and what demands remembering. They truly posses that quality we know as an edge. EDGEWAY Edgeway were formed in 2001 by Lucy Gill and Jared Bryant in a newly built studio deep in the Wyre Forest. Drawing on common musical influences, ranging diversely from Massive Attack, Paul Weller and the late Eva Cassidy, the pair began writing, and were soon joined by Danny Gauden (guitar), David Manser (bass) and Steve White (drums). Since forming, Edgeway have continued writing their own original material and developed their own unique style. Playing at venues across the Midlands, including the Wulfrun in Wolverhampton and Ludlow Fringe Festival, the band have received recognition from the industry and media alike, building a fan base and gaining respect amongst the hive of talent in their local area. After crafting their songs through their live performances, and time in their studio, Edgeway recorded their latest demo in February 2005. Most recently, after appearing at charity gig to raise funds for the Tsunami Disaster Appeal, the band were approached by Robert Plant and asked personally to appear with him and his new band Strange Sensation, supporting them on their forthcoming tour. Now ready to unleash their music to the masses, Edgeway prepare to take their music far and wide… MELO DJ Originating from the acid house and old skool years, Melo DJ flows through musical styles like a conductor at a royal symphony. OTIS COYOTE Do you remember the days when a rock band could take you places normally only reached with high doses of mind-altering drugs? When Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and the Doors would put their explicit chemical experiences down onto vinyl so you could play it home and take the trip with them? Otis Coyote may not be able to remember those days but they have definitely been cut from the same cloth as those classic artists. Crafting sonic soundscapes and pyschadelic dreams out of their 5 piece set up –adding classic Hammond tones to further expand the journey, they are a breath of fresh air around the Kidderminster music scene. Their feet may well be treading the boards of classic rock and 70’s psychadelia but their vision is firmly fixed on the future, taking in many modern influences along the way – culminating in an intoxicating and invigorating take on rock n roll as we know it. |
