Since the age of 18, he's deejayed on pirate radio stations across London and on the same line up as some of the pioneers of Drum n Bass and UK Hip Hop like Kenny Ken, Devious D, Shortee Blitz, Da Firing Squad and Randall. D-Code started experimenting with production a couple of years ago. From Rock to House, From Drum n Bass to Hip Hop. This coincided with connecting with the Shiva Soundsystem crew and quickly becoming their resident DJ and one of the head producers. He has toured India & Canada and has been a pivotal figure in pushing the sounds of Drum & Bass internationally. You can catch him deejaying at his monthly residencies at the Vibe Bar and Herbal. He has also teamed up with DnB producer Sparfunk and the two are set to produce a number of future releases for Terrafunk. ![]() 20|11|06Scottish Hop Hip MC, DJ and Producer Brown Boy Breakz started making music in '91 and formed the first Asian/Muslim hip hop crew to come out of Scotland called R.A.I.D. He hooked up with Edinburgh’s Zulu Syndicate where he experimented with sampling. After disbanding R.A.I.D. he continued the Islamic hip hop journey with a crew called the Cufic Poets but finally hung up his mic around '96/'97. He got hold of his dads Bollywood collection and the Brown Boy Breakz sound was born. He’s remixed Deaf Mutes, Kelis, Method Man, Jay-Z and The Chemical Brothers. He's currently working with Riz MC in hibernation producing some raw, dirty electro tracks for him. He’s also looking to collaborate with Future Pilot AKA under the guise of GT Orkestra some time next year. The future’s brown. ![]() 13|11|06Born in London, raised in Canada Rocky Singh aka ROCK I.D. is a Multi-instrumentalist, Producer, Singer, Songwriter but best known for his live drums. His career dates back to '96 with releases in Canada before he moved to the UK and joined ADF as their drummer. He's worked on the live soundtrack for Cannes 'Best Direction Award' winning film 'La Haine (The Hate)' in 2001. Rocky's performed all over the World and recorded with artists such as Sinead O'Connor, Ed O'Brian (Radiohead) to Fran Healy (Travis). Since 1996, Rocky's released a number of singles and set up his band Rock I.D. The album 'Motorscream' is out now and includes collaborations from Manu Chao & Massive Attack's bassist Winston Blisset. The Rock I.D. sound is described as Jungle Punk Rock! ![]() 06|11|06West Londoner Dialekt has been Rapping for 6 years his influences include GZA (Wu Tang), Jay Z, Fabalous, Kano and Klashnekoff. At the age of 21 the versatile rapper has already managed to perform at the 1XTRA Homegrown week desi night, was one of the top three artists to perform at the MOBO Afterparty auditions and now has a mixtape in the pipeline, it's defintely worth keeping an ear to the streets for him. |
