About 1Xtra Loves Summer
2008 saw 1Xtra embark on it's biggest and best summer tour yet. We rocked it in Malia, Ibiza, Ayia napa and at the Notting Hill and Leeds Carnival. Here's what went down.
Maila
On the 25th & 26th July Westwood tore it up at Pleasure Beach in Malia.
The Saturday night pool party saw the cream of the UK grime scene in the form of Ghetto, Skepta and Tinchy Stryder take to the stage. In an historic moment all three MCs joined each other onstage for a legendary freestyle.
Ibiza
On 1 August Trevor Nelson brought you a special show live from Ibiza with plenty of summer vibes plus loads of your summer confessions.
On 2 August Trevor Nelson & Zena presented the mighty Dizzee Rascal and Roots Manuva live at 1Xtra Pool Party live from the Ibiza Rocks Hotel.
Ayia Napa
On 8 August 1Xtra took over Ayia Napa with the Rampage Crew. You heard all the goss from the beach to the bars, and found out how you could still have a wicked holiday on a tight budget!
On 9 August Rampage hosted a 1Xtra party at Havana Bar with guests Sway and Taio Cruz, Crazy Cousins, DJ NG and Tinie Tempah.
Notting Hill and Leeds Carnival
Monday 25 August 1Xtra touched down at both Notting Hill and Leeds Carnivals for the biggest free parties of the year.
We bought you Rampage recorded live from their legendary sound system on Sunday, we were live from route-side in Notting Hill on Monday and we hosted our most glamourous After Party yet at Cafe de Paris in London with special guests Lloyd, Busy Signal, Ray J, Jazmine Sullivan and Donaeo.
